The Return of Villa de l’Amour

Erik was fantastic! He was everything we wanted in a DJ and more. Our ceremony went perfectly, and everyone danced all throughout the night.” –WeddingWire

Getting Down

We were happy to set the mood for this wedding. And it ended up creating amazing photos. Working with this couple and all these vendors really made this a night to remember. Everyone here was trying to get down and we were happy to oblige.

We love seeing people having a good time. Dancing, laughter, togetherness… it’s one of the reasons we love what we do. Occasionally we’re invited to a wedding that not only has all three, but completely embodies them. And this was one of those weddings.

Seeing different families and traditions come together is always cool. Taking unique elements from different traditions and combining them into something original can really take a wedding to the next level.

Personal Touches

This one definitely took all the coolest traditions from both sides. And seeing the two families come together and have a blast… it’s definitely something we’ll never forget. And also something we wanted to share!

The playlists for this wedding also went with the theme of “unique in an awesome way.” We had such a good mix of eras and genres. And everyone was dancing to all of them! We love having folks of all ages tearing it up on the dance floor. Without a doubt, that’s what was happening here.

There were so many personal touches added to this ceremony and reception. And those are what really makes for a memorable night. We had a great time with this one and we hope everyone else involved did too!

Final Thoughts

We’re in the business of bringing people together. It’s amazing to see two people celebrating coming together. However, it wasn’t just two people celebrating today. Not even just two families, but two traditions, came together. We saw both sides embracing the unique traditions of the other. And it rocked.

And as a final note, we just need to say… We absolutely love what we do. Being a part of the unique and personal ways couples celebrate is why we do it. And we loved being a part of this celebration. It’s always awesome to see how couples choose to celebrate.

In conclusion, we’ve learned that being a wedding DJ isn’t just about playing the music. So we take our role seriously. Facilitating such a big day is a serious job! That’s why we always give every wedding or event our all.

A Real-Life Cinderella Bride Makes Girl's Day

A 5-year-old girl with autism saw a bride taking wedding photos in New York’s Akron Falls Park last week and mistook her for Cinderella.

Because she has autism, it’s often difficult for Layla Lester to interact with strangers. But Cinderella is no stranger. Layla loves Disney, so when she saw a “Disney princess” at the park, she was thrilled.

She ran up to Olivia Spark, who was posing with her groom — or rather, Prince Charming. Spark took a break from taking wedding photos to chat with the little girl, who was excited to be meeting “Cinderella.”

“When she sees a princess, she’s going to love them because she loves princesses,” Layla’s mom told CBS Buffalo affiliate WIVB.

“I was flattered,” Spark said. “I was in tears that she thought I was a princess, and it just made my day absolutely more amazing than what it already was.”

After wedding photographer, Nicole Wickins, snapped some photos, Spark had to leave for her reception. “Bye! Have fun at the ball,” Layla told the bride when they parted ways. Luckily her slipper did not fall off.

That definitely made that little girl’s week. AND the bride gets some very cool pictures of legitimately being mistaken for a fairy tale princess. I would say that was a successful wedding photo shoot.

Chase and Carley Sitting in a Tree…

[Chase and Carley Sitting in a Tree… originally published by Dow Oak Events — Winston Salem Wedding DJ]
“At first we felt so intimidated at the thought of hiring a DJ. But the more we looked in to Dow Oak Events, the more comfortable we felt with everything! Talking with our DJ, planning out our dances, and making sure everything was just right… it really took a ton of that nervousness away! 10/10 absolutely.” –Google

Everybody Danced

Carley, Chase and their friends and family are the kinds of people that make our job easy. And remind us why we do what we do. Their willingness to have fun, go with the flow, and enjoy the moment was so apparent. Even the kids got their moments on the mic to put on a show for everybody.

It is so nice to see when everyone is involved in the festivities. Alayna Kaye Photography did a wonderful job capturing the excitement and love we felt here.

The crowd participation at this one was amazing also. We usually have some go-to songs to get people out on the dance floor. But this crowd needed no encouragement to throw down. We had a packed dance floor all night, and we loved it.

Bubbles!

BUBBLES! Light, fun, beautiful spheres. Instead of rice or sparklers, this couple was sent off with a bubbly exit. Not something we’ve seen before, but definitely something we won’t forget. We love seeing the unique, individualized touches couples add to their celebrations.

We wish Carley and Chase the best for many, many years to come! Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this day. Here’s to many to come!

Final Thoughts

One thing that can really make a wedding special is total participation. Not only from all the vendors, but everyone in attendance. Which is what we saw here. Whether old or young, everyone wanted their turn on the mic. And we were happy to oblige. Many times, we see the younger guests get sidelined. But this time, there was TOTAL participation. Which was very, very cool.

And as a final note, we just need to say… We absolutely love what we do. Being a part of the unique and personal ways couples celebrate is why we do it. And we loved being a part of this celebration. It’s always awesome to see how couples choose to celebrate.

We Can’t Say Enough About This Venue

“Dow Oak Events is the way to go!!!! Do yourself a favor and book them NOW!!!” –The Knot

This Venue

What a beautiful Raleigh wedding! This wedding is a reminder that simple, clean and elegant is an amazing option! The Barn at Valhalla is absolutely gorgeous. The team there was amazing at making the venue immaculate. Here is the shot of the night! We love to see our people having an unforgettable time. This is why we keep going!

WOW! These photographs really are phenomenal. They really do capture the love and support that every newlywed couple needs. These are the photos that remind us that we are never alone even when we feel like we are. Thank you all for a beautiful evening!

We Were Warned

We were warned there would be a lot of dancing. And that’s something we hear from time to time in this business. But we didn’t realize there would be this much dancing. We’re not complaining though. It’s our job to get people up and moving. It’s just always awesome when everyone is trying to throw down.

We can’t say enough about this venue either. The refurbished barns can sometimes be tricky with our equipment. But everything went perfectly. And without having to worry about our equipment, we can focus all our energies on the couple. A good venue truly is key to a problem-free wedding. And we’ve got nothing but great things to say about this one.

We can’t thank everyone involved in this wedding enough. It really was our pleasure to work with all of these awesome vendors. Here’s to many more!

Final Thoughts

When we hear that a wedding will be either outside or in a barn, we can be a little wary. So we went into this not knowing exactly what to expect. However, we shouldn’t have been worried at all. Everyone working together brought out the best in all the vendors. All things considered, there was nothing that didn’t go perfectly.

And as a final note, we just need to say… We absolutely love what we do. Being a part of the unique and personal ways couples celebrate is why we do it. And we loved being a part of this celebration. It’s always awesome to see how couples choose to celebrate.

This One Was Spooooky

Kameron was amazing! We booked with Dow Oak a little later than you usually would, but they worked with us to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Kameron was super helpful with planning out a timeline and choosing our music and she was super flexible when some things didn’t quite go as planned! She was super friendly as well. Thank you guys so much for giving us a wonderful experience before, during, and after our event.” –WeddingWire

Above and beyond

YES! We go above and beyond to make sure our clients are feeling great about everything. Even if things do not go exactly as planned. We are known to try everything we possibly can to resolve any issues. That way the bride and groom have the best wedding possible!

We had a great time at this one. The date was October 27, 2018, so Aly and Aiden decided to embrace that weekend and have a Halloween themed wedding. The decorations, cake, centerpieces and dramatic colors in the flowers all coordinated. This couple even offered to their guests and DJ to come dressed in costume!

Aly and Aiden also could not have found a better venue to have a Halloween wedding. They were married in the House of Pan. And these lanterns that lined aisle were PERFECT! They gave the whole event a very spooky, old-timey vibe. Definitely worked with the Halloween theme.
Thank you guys for letting us help and share this beautiful, fun day with everyone in attendance. Here’s to many years of happiness for Aly and Aiden!!!!!

Spooky celebration

The Hanger Hall house was absolutely breathtaking. With the old feel comes the feeling there might even be ghostly presences hanging around. It’s spooky and exhilarating! It would be fun to sit down with the people that live in the house to possibly collect stories.

The guest book is also a cute idea! Instead of writing, guests took a polaroid picture and taped it in.
Thanks again to everyone involved for letting us be a part of this spooky celebration!

Final Thoughts

All in all, we had a great time here. This venue was like nothing we’ve seen. Both the present ambiance and the history combine to make something awesome. Now that we’ve experienced it, it’s definitely something we’d recommend!
