Bridesmaid Dresses for a Canine Wedding Party

Getting married soon?

Ring bearer, flower girl or just simply all-too-adorable guest — the possibilities are endless if you’re hoping to include your dog in your wedding ceremony.

And if you’re hoping to have your furry friend standing beside you in the bridal party, this may be the perfect Etsy shop for you.

The Posh Paws Company, as first spotted by Bustle, are a UK-based shop which makes bridesmaid-inspired dresses for dogs — so your bridal party will be paw-sitively perfect.

You can get the dresses in a variety of colours and the sixes go from XXS to L (and there is the option for a custom-made size, in case none of the usual ones work for your pup).
Prices begin at €72 for an XXS and go all the way up to €132 for an L.
The description reads:
“So the big day coming up; not sure whats happening with poochy on the day?
“Well, why not complete your day by including your pooch in the bridal party, as one of your bridesmaids.
“Our beautifully handmade bridesmaid gowns are created with a detailed collar, and fully lined bodice.
“The shoulder is finished with gathered frill to give the impression of fitted sleeves.
“The bottom is a full bodied skirt, rounded off and tapered into the underbelly, with layers of netting to promote fullness in skirt. There is a bow at the waist with tails.

Gotta say, I’m a big fan of this new trend I’m seeing of an uptick in having dog and cat-related activities in weddings. I also like how they’re becoming a more crucial part of the wedding than just a dog flower girl or something like that. I swear, eventually I’m gonna do a wedding where the entire guest count is nothing but pets. And I’ll be super into it.

All of the Uniqueness!

Worth Our Weight in Gold!

Dang, this says so much about Mason’s skill set and what he will do to go above and beyond for his clients.

This dance floor was the hypest of hype! For instance, the MUST PLAY list was all the rockers from Lionel Richie and Whitney to Chris Stapleton and The Gorillaz! In summary: all of the classics and more. This was a playlist that definitely got people moving. That’s what we love to see.

Completely Unforgettable

This is one of the coolest Raleigh weddings we’ve ever been to. There was an arcade before the reception, and the grand exit featured smoke bombs. It was so ridiculously awesome. The ideas for this wedding were so original and we loved it. Of course, as always, it’s so incredible to be a part of someone’s special day. We always love being able to see all of the different ways people decide to celebrate their love. In other words, there is absolutely no way we’ll ever forget this one.

Also, it is the most fun when we see EVERYONE dancing and having the time of their lives! This is what makes our job so important to us!

All of the vendors did a fabulous job at making this a success story. The food, pictures, flowers, the venue for setting it all up and keeping it going all the way down to the transportation service who delivered our couple of the night and their loved ones safe and sound! Cheers to many more!!!

Final Thoughts

We can’t stress enough how memorable this wedding was. We talk a lot about couples making their weddings their own with personal touches. However, we haven’t seen another with more personal touches than this one.

And as a final note, we just need to say… We absolutely love what we do. Being a part of the unique and personal ways couples celebrate is why we do it. And we loved being a part of this celebration. It’s always awesome to see how couples choose to celebrate.

We’ve learned that being a wedding DJ isn’t just about playing the music. So we take our role seriously. Facilitating such a big day is a serious job! That’s why we always give every wedding or event our all.

Grandma Can't Make the Wedding? Bring the Wedding to Grandma.

Wedding planning isn’t an easy journey, since there are lots of things you can’t control. And Tara Foley, a bride-to-be from Texas, found herself in one of these situations. Months away from getting married, she discovered that her grandmother was put into hospice and wasn’t able to fly anymore. But she wanted to be at the wedding so much that Tara had to find a way to involve a person, that she holds dear, into the celebration.

Bright Side brings you this story as a reminder that it’s possible to find a way around any situation, we just have to look at things through a broader lens.

In her viral Facebook post, Tara revealed that she knew about her 102-year-old grandma’s last wish. Her hospice nurse asked her about it, and she replied that, most of all, she wanted to be at her granddaughter’s wedding. But that was unlikely to happen because of her advanced age and failing heart.

So, what can you do if there is no way your grandma can make it to your wedding? You bring your unaltered wedding dress to her and do a whole photoshoot together. And this is was exactly Tara’s plan, while no one in her family knew anything about it

Stories like this are great. A guilty pleasure of mine is reading through sappy, wedding-related stories. So you can believe me when I say that this is definitely one that’s worth checking out.

When She Said They Danced…. OH! She Meant IT!!!!!!!

“Oh my goodness. I can’t tell you how AMAZING my DJ, Ryan Green and his assistant Kameron Utterback of Dow Oak Events were at my wedding. Seriously, they kept the party alive the WHOLE NIGHT. They played EXACTLY what I wanted without me having to ask twice. I asked for the artist James Arthur to play for my cocktail hour (Not many people know who he is outside of his one song).
The very first song played was by him, and I look over, and both of them and they were both vibing out just as much as I was. The music was the most important part of my night. Considering I was a dance major in college and about 1/3 of the guests there were also dance/cheer/theater majors.
So we were looking to have a good time and dance the night away. Ryan did not disappoint. He was also very good about making sure things happened as smoothly as possible and how my husband and I wanted. I would recommend them 10/10 times!!!
Their website also made it VERY easy for me to make sure the timeline and order of events were perfect. It is very user-friendly. The price was exactly right. I honestly got so lucky with them! Thank you, Ryan and Kameron!!” –Google

Attention to Detail

Nothing hypes us up more than a truly satisfied client. That’s what we live for! It is a pleasure for us to make sure that every little detail is perfect. We really do have a good time doing it. And this wedding was SO much fun! You can see the class, beauty, love, excitement, and FUN in all the photos. We’re very happy to have been able to be there for all that! This was an unforgettable night for so many.

Class and Style

Alright ladies and gentlemen, let’s look at how classy and downright fly this bridal party is. They looked magnificent! We were at the Cotton Room in Raleigh, and the ambiance worked so well with the venue dΓ©cor! Everyone looked and played the part, so we are giving everyone a round of applause!

And to the Bride and Groom themselves… Look at how amazing you guys are! Remember how many people showed up to help celebrate the joining of two lives. None of this would have been possible without you two. And of course, congratulations! You both will have these memories forever. And all who attended will have their share as well. Keep being fabulous!

Final Thoughts

So say everyone “danced the night away” would be an understatement. There was so much dancing we almost couldn’t believe it. But that’s definitely something that we love to see.

A Wedding Dress for a Modern Princess

The Dress.

For many brides what to wear on their big day is one of the most important decisions they’ll make.
Ivory or white? A-line or mermaid? Long or short? Fitted or puffy?

But for Princess Eugenie there was an extra factor at play.

The Queen’s granddaughter had major surgery on her back to treat a curvature of the spine at the age of 12.

Sixteen years on, and the princess chose to wear a wedding dress that showed her scar, saying she hoped it would honour those who had helped her and inspire others with the condition of scoliosis.
Image copyrightEPAImage The dress was designed by British-based Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos

‘I think you can change the way beauty is’

Ahead of the wedding, the princess spoke of the importance of showing “people your scars”.

The times are always a-changin. We’ve known that for literally forever. That still doesn’t make it less cool to witness some changing trends. Which seems to be what’s going on here, with a trend developing towards a more natural and authentic wedding aesthetic. Not trying to pretend something is what it’s not. And that’s something that’s very very cool.

These Playlists Were Off the Chain

“We had a wonderful experience working with Dow Oak Events and Erik. They were easy to work with, their planning tools were great and helpful to me in my planning process, and Erik was happy to customize the reception to just how I wanted it. He had the dance floor full all night long, and everyone had an absolute blast! We could not have asked for a better DJ experience for our wedding!”

Success Stories

YES! We love a great success! We love it when our clients are fully satisfied. So we always strive to go above and beyond. It is a great feeling to help make someone’s big day the best it possibly can be.

And that is why we love our job!

The flowers and table decorations put together by Sophisticated Florals by Stephanie were perfect! We can always get down with awesome floral arrangements.

Straightaway, we could feel the love captured in these photos by Helen with Visuals by Helen. The entire day was filled with that amount of love! We could feel it not only from Mr. and Mrs. Canovai, but from the bridal party, the guests, and all the way to the vendors.

Flowers, Food, and Festivities

For now, let us take a second to admire… Not only those amazing flowers and table decoration, but also THE FOOD! City BBQ killed it. Without a doubt, his dinner was some of the best catering we have had in a long time. We can definitely say City BBQ never disappoints. And then…. there were DOUGHNUTS! Delicious, easy to eat and just enough. Great work Cake and All Things Yummy!
As a result of awesome requests, the music selection was so much fun! Bruno, Usher, Whitney, Michael Jackson, ABBA… and the list goes on! There was dancing the entire reception!
A huge thanks to the newlyweds for letting us be a part of their big day. And another huge thanks to all the vendors for all working together so well!

Final Thoughts

There’s always one thing that stands out for us in every wedding we do. (Other than the newlyweds). In this case it was absolutely the food. It really is hard to go wrong with BBQ. But this BBQ… this was something else.

And as a final note, we just need to say… We absolutely love what we do. Being a part of the unique and personal ways couples celebrate is why we do it. And we loved being a part of this celebration. It’s always awesome to see how couples choose to celebrate.

Venue Spotlight: Forest Hall at Chatham Mills

Read the original post: Venue Spotlight: Forest Hall at Chatham Mills from or read it below.

All-Around Awesome Venues

In our travels, we've seen a lot of wedding venues. From the beautiful to the backyard, we've run the gamut of North Carolina venues. So we wanted to share some of our experiences with venues we've deemed "All-Around Awesome." And Forest Hall at Chatham Mills definitely fulfills that criteria.

chatham mills wedding indoor ceremony

A Little About Them

Situated in a turn of the century mill, the entire Chatham Mills complex has no shortage of community character. From the adjacent local market co-op to the neighboring dance studio and local artisan shops, to say Chatham Mills is community-minded would be an understatement.

Also found here is the reason for this blog: Forest Hall. Settled on a 32 acre plot just outside downtown Pittsboro, they've clearly struck a good balance between "small town rustic" and "historic revival." Coupling the natural surrounding land with the exposed painted brick, natural light, and open layout of the space itself makes for an all-around awesome venue.

Choices, choices, choices

nc forest hall weddingSpeaking of venue layouts, the freedom of choice with Forest Hall at Chatham Mills was something we also wanted to touch on. If naturalistic outdoor weddings and sycamore trees are what you're going for, they've got you covered. It definitely makes for gorgeous photos and a very cool natural aesthetic.

Or if you're more of an indoors person, there's options for that as well. An indoor ceremony space against painted brick and lit through vintage awning windows? Definitely a very cool alternative to an outdoor wedding.

Having options is something we as DJs definitely appreciate. Weddings (or any event, for that matter) generally go better when there's a degree of flexibility built in. That's something we've learned through experience. Having options creates a smooth flow that rigidity just doesn't. And that's something that Forest Hall excels in. That combined with the top-notch staff has made every celebration we've been a part of go off without a hitch. Or one could say... because of a hitch? Thanks, I'll be here all week.

Repeat Customers

wedding reception dancing chatham We've been to Forest Hall at Chatham Mills a few times in the the last year. And every celebration we've helped create there has been awesome. We've been involved in crafting background atmosphere and also involved in creating complete ragers. From low-key family celebrations to crazy dance parties. And from piano-themed ceremonies to disco receptions. And every wedding we've done there we've remembered fondly.

With all those fond memories we can confidently say: we can't wait to go back. Maybe we'll look into booking a little time at that dance studio and add interpretive dancing to our repertoire...

Class, Arabic Tradition, Beauty, FUN!

always bringing the party dj

DJ Erik was incredible to work with! I knew my wedding would be a tough one trying to blend Arabic and English but he did it so well! My dad, one of the toughest critics I know, was so impressed with how well Erik would flow back and forth between the two languages! People were dancing the whole night!” –WeddingWire

Unique Mixes

WOO! This review was what we needed to read! It is amazing we were able to impress with our skillset to have anyone and everyone let loose and celebrate the way they need to! I mean, look at this party!!

It was a pleasure to work with all of these amazing people and businesses to have such a successful day! Cheers to many more!

DJing for this wedding was also a pleasure. It’s always fun for us to have unique requests, and we definitely had fun with this one. After doing our homework and finding some Arabic hits, we couldn’t wait to play them. And adding them into our usual reception hit mix was awesome.

Phenomenal Photos

It’s also definitely always cool to see different wedding traditions. That’s one of the reasons we love what we do. There’s nothing like getting to see how couples from all over the world celebrate. So it was absolutely one of the coolest experiences we’ve had to be able to be a part of this wedding.
The excitement, intensity, and emotion were amazingly photographed by Emma!! One of the friendliest and most professional photographers we’ve worked with, and we definitely appreciate that.
The reception venue, Benton Convention Center of Winston Salem, was perfect! Lovely, inviting and practical! What more could we ask for?!

First Bridal Collection Made in Pakistan

[Originally at Wedding Gowns Aren’t the Main Story for This Brand-New Bridal Designer by EMILY FARRA]

Sarah Abbasi hadn’t intended to “do” bridal when she launched her label, Sahroo, last summer, but her knack for all things ivory has turned her into a burgeoning resource for the aisle-bound. Having grown up between Chicago and Pakistan, she has built her brand around the idea of modernizing the “uniform” of Pakistani women.

Elegant matching sets are the foundation of their wardrobe: jackets and trousers, tunics and wide-leg pants, long skirts and blouses. Abbasi has the advantage of knowing exactly how those pieces are made — and how all clothing should be made, really — because she saw it firsthand in her aunt’s design workshop.

Her circa-2019 twist? Adding feathered trims, hand-beading, and a bold color palette, plus more streamlined silhouettes, such as collarless blazers and cigarette pants. Her turquoise and cherry-red sets have become a nice alternative for wedding guests who hate cocktail dresses, but Abbasi has found that her best-selling pieces are actually an ivory feathered jacket and matching trousers.

Women aren’t buying them to wear to a friend’s wedding: They’re wearing them to their own engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and, in some cases, their actual weddings.

Most of the time, we only really get to see what’s goin on in our own little corner of the world. So it’s definitely awesome to see what’s goin on on literally the other side of the world. And it’s also awesome to see that there are so many similarities between us here and someone thousands of miles away, both preparing for a wedding.
